1958 - Back home to Nottingham ASAP !

Worked at the General Hospital for 5 years –  then  in General Practice, teaching medical students and did a  lot of work in computing. Enjoyed it all and eventually retired at 68, leaving the practice to sons Ian & Julian.

More time now  for the computing as well as the church organ (www.orgwebs.co.uk) and the five lovely grandchildren.

It would be nice to hear from old classmates.

Hello everybody!  Thanks to Don Henry for having set up the web-site.  Hope those of you, who like me have come to computing somewhat late in life may find it useful and interesting.  Particularly apposite as we are planning an informal reunion at Dunkeld House Hotel on 28/29th September 2003.

After graduation and Edinburgh based house jobs, I did a couple of years National Service with the Parachute Regiment, before returning to Edinburgh for some more basic experience in Paediatrics and Obs/gynae.

Then off to Canada for six years General Practice in Regina, Saskatchewan - great fun but a rather chilly part of the world in the winter.

Then back to Edinburgh to the University Health Service where I spent the next 25 years happily looking after the students and staff, with a view of the Teviot Row Union and McEwan Hall from my consulting room window!

Retirement in 1995 - a good move - allowing me to finish my 'Munros', do more curling, skiing and travelling.

Family consists of Jan, my wife, Alastair my son who is now an orthopedic surgeon, and Jean my daughter who is a vet. nurse.

All things consdered I've been very fortunate!

PS: My friend in the photograph is called Elsa!

I am sure we all appreciate the setting up of this web-site. I retired in 1993 from being Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at Columbia- Presbyterian Hospital in New York, and live in Manhattan, taking courses in a variety of subjects at Columbia University, with my husband, who is also retired. We also recently did a computer course, and are new (tentative ) graduates. For the last ten years, we have spent July and August in Scotland, where we are both very happy. Will be sorry to miss the re-union, but must return to New York on 4th September. Good Luck to everybody!   Hilda Pedersen.  (Hilda and Paul Liebowitz).
